Frequently Asked Questions

Are you wondering how we can respectfully care for your pet, regardless of size or species?

TAPS Animal Services F.A.Q.

We are here 24/7 to answer any questions you might have, don't hesitate to contact us day or night.

Question:

It's a Christmas Day, can you come?

Answer:

YES, we run our truck a true 24/7, 365 days a year.

Question:

I need my horse hauled for necropsy, but still want him cremated afterwards.

Answer:

YES, we commute horses through the whole State of Florida for any destination. Facilities who offer necropsies have strict hours. So plan ahead. Weekends and holidays often increase the difficulty of timing.

Question:

My pet is not yet deceased, can you come get him?

Answer:

Our services are for deceased animals only. We can assist you with at home euthanasia with veterinarians we collaborate with for livestock in rural area where vets don't often travel.

Question:

I'm a commercial property owner, there is a dead animal on my property, can you help me?

Answer:

YES, however we are not pest control. We can only pickup animals who can be easily seen. We cannot extract mystery smells in crawlspaces.

Question:

Do you charge extra for late nights or weekends?

Answer:

NEVER! We have animals, too, and we understand it's almost always inconvenient timing, unless planned.  These things are hard enough for our customers without paying extra fees.

Question:

Do I need an appointment?

Answer:

No, but it's better to make an appointment for an exact pickup time. You can call us at 754-236-1489 or learn more about us here

Question:

Do you offer cremation?

Answer:

YES. We offer cremation services for both large and small animals. We also offer private cremation and group cremation at different rates.

Question:

Can I be there when you bury or cremate my pet?

Answer:

Animals are processed through a cue. Liability will not allow anyone present when processing cremations.  As for burials, often they are buried same day, but when they go to a cemetery where you can visit, you can arrange to host a funeral.

Question:

Where do you take the animals to be buried?

Answer:

We have two options, at different price points.  Our lowest cost and most preferred option is our general burial.  Animals go to a contracted site for burial upon drop off.  This is not a place that can be visited. It is however where we take our own animals.  Our single plot burial has two locations: Central Florida for large animals, and South Florida for small animals.

Question:

How long after pickup until I get my pet back from cremation?

Answer:

Cremation is on a cue, animals go into cold storage until they are cremated.  Total turn around is 2-3 weeks, but sometimes only 1-2 weeks.

Question:

My horse unexpectedly died in the stall, what do I do?

Answer:

Not to worry, we can take care of everything.  Our truck and drivers are equipped to handle these difficulties efficiently.

Question:

My vet is scheduled to come to euthanize my horse.  Where is the best place to do it?

Answer:

We understand that sometimes you don't get to pick where your horse is laid to rest, but when it's possible, an open easily accessible space on or near a driveway is best.  This will streamline our work and we can go in and out with as little disturbance as possible.

Question:

I have a few senior horses all scheduled to be put down together,  can your truck carry more than one?

Answer:

Yes, our truck  is equipped to carry several large animals at once. They can absolutely all go together.
